Build career conversation capability into your community.

Career Allies is a CPD-certified programme delivered in partnership with councils, colleges, housing providers, and community organisations. It equips your frontline staff and volunteers to have better career conversations with the people they already support.

Why this matters for your organisation

Career conversations are already happening in your buildings. Make them count.

People come to your libraries, housing offices, advice centres, and community hubs with questions about CVs, job applications, and career worries. Your staff and volunteers listen, they help, they do their best. Career Allies gives them a professional framework, so the support they're already providing is structured, confident, and connected to deeper help when it's needed.

Who this works for in your organisation

The people already trusted by the community you serve.

Career Allies is designed for frontline staff and volunteers who are already fielding career questions informally, and who want to enhance their support with professional frameworks without becoming careers advisers.

  • Library staff and volunteers
  • Housing association customer service teams and digital empowerment officers
  • Community centre workers and volunteers
  • Social prescribers and community workers
  • Advice centre staff and volunteers
  • Tutors, careers advisers, and learning coaches in FE colleges
  • Any frontline staff who regularly interact with residents about employment challenges

Your team is a great fit if they:

  • Are already trusted by the people they work with
  • Currently field career-related questions informally
  • Want to enhance their support skills with professional frameworks
  • Are comfortable with basic digital tools
  • Can commit to 3–4 hours of learning plus monthly peer sessions

Why we're doing this

Imagine career conversation capability becoming as ordinary in this country as basic first aid.

What your team will gain

Four competencies that raise the standard of the support they're already giving.

Structured Conversation Skills

A simple 4-question framework that gives structure to career conversations without making them feel scripted. Used naturally, it helps people clarify goals, recognise strengths, and identify next steps.

Digital Tool Proficiency

Confidently demonstrate the Stay Nimble platform and our AI career assistant, Ask.Nim, so the people you serve leave with 24/7 support they can use on their own terms.

Effective Referral Know-How

Recognise when someone needs deeper support from qualified coaches, and make referrals that feel like a natural next step. Know where professional boundaries sit, and when to escalate for safeguarding.

Professional Boundaries & Ethics

Maintain confidentiality, communicate inclusively, and keep appropriate boundaries. Build trust through professional practice that enhances, rather than replaces, existing community roles.

These four competencies sit within a published open standard. Read the Career Conversations Competency Framework v1.0 →

How it works

Three ways your team will learn, and keep learning.

Self-Paced Online Modules

Five engaging modules plus a final assessment, each awarding a digital badge participants can share on LinkedIn and add to their professional portfolio.

Live Virtual Practice Session

Practice the 4-question conversation model with qualified CDI-registered coaches and fellow Career Allies. Attendance is required to earn the practitioner badge.

Monthly Learning Circles

Ongoing peer support where Career Allies share experiences and continue developing. Attending four per year maintains CPD-certified status and credential validity.

Proof it works

Live, borough-wide, and already working.

Career Allies launched borough-wide with Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Ten weeks in, the numbers speak for themselves. The participants speak louder.

Digital credentials

Credentials your team can share, verify, and be proud of.

Every participant earns a CPD-certified Career Ally credential plus a digital badge for every module they complete. Credentials are issued through Navigatr, the same digital credentialing platform used by Belfast City Council, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, and Leeds University to map skills to careers.

Badges are shareable on LinkedIn, addable to professional development portfolios, and verifiable by anyone. For your organisation, it's visible evidence of workforce development. For your staff, it's recognition of skills they can carry for the rest of their career.

How we work together

A simple licence model, designed to scale with you.

Career Allies works on a straightforward partnership model. Your organisation enrols team members onto the programme, and gets access to the infrastructure that supports them once they're certified: learning circles, CDI-registered coach facilitation, credential management, and referral pathways into Stay Nimble's coaching platform.

Start with a cohort

We work with you to identify the right team members, onboard them through the programme, and support the first practice sessions. Most partners begin with 10–20 participants to test fit before scaling.

Build infrastructure that persists

Once your Career Allies are certified, they become part of a supported community of practice, facilitated by our coaches, backed by the Stay Nimble platform, and connected to wider referral networks. The capability stays with your organisation.

Before you enquire

Questions organisations ask us.

Everything we get asked most often in a first conversation, so you can decide whether Career Allies is worth exploring before booking a call.

Career Allies works on a partnership model. There's a licence fee for your organisation plus a per-participant cost for the people you enrol. The exact shape depends on the size of your cohort, whether you want additional coaching provision for the people your Career Allies support, and any sector-specific content you'd like included. We'll walk you through pricing on the Get Started Conversation once we understand what you're trying to build.
